Ikebana classes at momoglobal flowers follow the Ichiyo School curriculum, and you can obtain official certification from the school.  

We hold weekly classes both in Swiss Hill Road, Catskills NY, Cliffside Park, NJ, and Manhattan, NY.

Overview

 

This is a course of ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), in the style of Ichiyo School of Ikebana. The Ichiyo School was founded in 1937 and is a leading school of modern ikebana. 

 

Based in Tokyo, Japan, the organization has chapters throughout the world. Ichiyo's curriculum offers a rigorous yet simplified method of learning ikebana that emphasizes the mastery of basic principles and techniques that eventually lead to the development of one’s “style” and ability to create freestyle arrangements.

 

The course is offered at six levels:

 

• Primary

• Secondary

• Advanced

• Research

• Assistant Instructor

• Instructor

 

Each course covers 20 lessons with the aid of textbooks and efficient instructions.

This approach enables students to progress within a short period of time. Upon satisfactory completion of each course, students may apply for a certificate. Advanced studies include three Post-Instructor levels leading to the master’s certificate.

 

The policy of the Ichiyo School is that students must complete requirements to apply for and receive an Ichiyo certificate for a given level before being permitted to advance to the next level.
